Orange Twp. Roughly around 7:23 PM, Savannah Volunteer Fire Company and EMS, Ashland County Sheriff's Office responded to the 1100 block of State Route 302, The residence of the 1100 block of State Route 302 was putting his daughter to bed upstairs when heard tires squealing and then heard at least about four bangs. He came running downstairs to tell his wife to call 911 but her cell phone was dead. So he had to call 911 from his cellphone instead, then he went running to the vehicle that had rolled over he was scared at first to look in the car, cause he thought everyone would be dead.
" I yelled into the vehicle and asked if anyone was okay, and he did not get a response at first"; he said. So he yelled again then someone finally yelled back, and said that he was okay, then again he asked if he was the only passenger. He said; " Yes he was the only occupant in the vehicle." That's when he noticed the young gentleman climbing out of the car, and noticed he did have some cuts and scratches on his head and elbows.
The driver was driving a Chrysler 200 westbound on State Route 302 when he came around the curve near Township Road 1101, and then lost control and then went left of center off the left side of the roadway, struck a small embankment, and went airborne. Then continued and went into a sideways skid and took a mailbox before starting to roll the Chrysler 200 down the roadway for at least 200 before landing on its driver's side. He was checked out by Savannah EMS roadway then was treated and released at the scene, for only minor injuries. It is unclear if he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and unknown his name at the time of the crash. But he was taken into custody by the Ashland County Sheriff's Deputy on scene for possible DUI and other charges. The roadway was closed off temporarily until the wreckage and debris could be removed from the roadway. Other agencies that assisted on the scene was Auer's Towing.
