Jackson Twp - Roughly around 4:15PM Polk Fire Department and EMS, Ashland County Sheriff's Department responded to about the 200 block of State Route 302 for a single vehicle rollover accident. Upon arrival found a Black Pick-up sideways in the middle of the roadway. According to scanner traffic that the driver appeared to be intoxicated (also known as D.U.I (driving under the influence) or Point 19 (police code) for drunk driver.
Preliminary investigation, that the Black Chevrolet pick-up was traveling westbound on State Route 302 in the 200 block, and traveled off the right side of the roadway and slide in the ditch and then over corrected, and come back onto the roadway and went left of center and over corrected again and that's when the vehicle rolled over onto the passenger side and slide on the roadway, and then flip back over onto all four wheels sideways in the middle of the roadway.
The driver was taken to University Hospital Samaritan Medical Center.
