Overturned Milk Truck Shuts Down Roadway.

Troy Twp. Roughly around 6:40 PM Ruggles-Troy Fire Department and Firelands EMS, Ashland County Sheriff's Department responded to the 400 block of State Route 60, just north of Ashland County Road 500 of a report of an overturned semi-truck off the roadway, and a broken utility pole. Once on scene firefighters on the scene found the milk truck on its driver's side with two people inside the truck still.

The driver and passenger were extracted from the vehicle and taken by Firelands EMS to University Hospital Samaritan Medical Center with unknown injuries. The preliminary investigation; was that the truck had traveled off the right of the shoulder into the ditch line, struck a utility pole, rolled and continued into the field, struck another utility pole, broke it off, and landed on its driver's side.

State Route 60 had to be shut down until the wreckage and debris could be removed from the scene, and also the traffic had to be detoured as well. the traffic had to be detoured. Ashland County Sheriff's Department assisted in traffic control along with Auer's Towing. As of 6-5-24 at 1:20 AM the truck is out of the ditch and back out on the roadway and reopened per scanner traffic.

The Cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Ashland County Sheriff's Department.
