ASHLAND COUNTY SHERIFF WAYNE RISNER ENDORSES KURT SCHNEIDER FOR SHERIFF

Sheriff Larry Overholt, Retired Regional Sheriffs & Ashland Deputy Sheriffs, and Local Business Leaders Join Risner in Backing Kurt Schneider


Ashland, OH – Today, Ashland County Sheriff Wayne Risner, flanked by fellow sheriffs, law enforcement leaders, and business leaders, endorsed former Ashland County Sheriff Deputy Kurt Schneider in the upcoming March 19th Republican Primary.


“I’m endorsing Kurt Schneider for many reasons. He has the intelligence, demonstrated ability, and desire to perform all the functions of sheriff,” stated Ashland County Sheriff Wayne Risner.


Risner went into more detail about how Kurt Schneider has been preparing himself to be sheriff.


“Kurt Schneider has spent the last two years learning everything he can about how the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office works. To my knowledge, Kurt is the only candidate to actively request any information in relation to the agency,” said Risner


Risner concluded his endorsement remarks by highlighting Schneider’s commitment to addressing the 911 transfer issue and leading the office.


“Kurt will work diligently to resolve the 911 transfer issue. Kurt’s desire is to build upon, continue, and even improve the great work of this department,” concluded Sheriff Risner.


Retired Ashland County Sheriff Larry Overholt joined the event and backed Kurt Schneider for Sheriff.


“I loved my career serving the great people of Ashland County. It’s critical for our next sheriff to be honest, trustworthy, knowledgeable, and courageous. That’s why I’m endorsing Kurt Schneider,” stated Ashland County Sheriff Larry Overholt (Ret).


Kurt Schneider expressed his gratitude for the support and renewed his commitment to the people of Ashland County to uphold our Constitution and keep their families safe.


“When you serve in the Sheriff’s Office, you learn just how special the office is and how important it is to our community. I’m humbled to have the support of Sheriff Risner, Sheriff Overholt, and all of the law enforcement and business leaders here today,” stated Kurt Schneider. With your vote, I will Uphold the Constitution, Keep Ashland County Families Safe, and Ensure the Sheriff’s Office Remains a Beacon of Trust.” concluded Schneider after the event.


Kurt Schneider is running for the Republican nomination for Ashland County Sheriff. Early voting is underway and voting concludes on Election Day, Tuesday, March 19.

Kurt Schneider brings a lifetime of public service and a broad range of experience to being Ashland County’s next sheriff. A graduate of the University of Cincinnati with degrees in both Fire Science Engineering and Criminal Justice Technology - Law Enforcement, Schneider began his career as a police officer. Being a beat cop, fire investigator, paramedic, sheriff’s deputy, and bomb tech, Kurt Schneider has worked in every facet of law enforcement and investigation. During his 13 years in the Sheriff’s office, Kurt Schneider worked in every area from corrections to road patrol, from administration to the K-9 and bomb unit. When he’s not on duty, Kurt and his wife Candice live in Ashland, where they own a local business. Kurt Schneider is eager for the opportunity to bring his experience in public safety, as a first responder, and a local business owner to protecting the families of Ashland County as our next sheriff.
