Orange Twp. - Ashland Ohio Highway Patrol responded to a motorcycle versus Amish buggy crash on Ashland County Road 601 and Ashland County Road 800. Mr. Dudley of Polk, Ohio was riding a 2007 Kawasaki Ninja northbound on Ashland County Road 601,. and Mr. Swartzentruber of Polk, Ohio, was driving his Amish buggy southbound on Ashland County Road 601, and his horse got spooked, Mr Swartzentruber's horse turned in front of Mr. Dudley's motorcycle and Mr. Dudley had to lay his motorcycle to avoid hitting the horse and buggy. Mr. Dudley's Swartzentruber's Amish buggy landed west of the motorcycle, on the corner of Ashland County Road 601 and Ashland County Road 800. Mr. Dudley only had minor injuries but refused transport, but the horse had to be put down due to its injuries at the scene.
Mr. Swartzentruber was cited for going Left of Center.
The roadway was temporarily shut down during the investigation of crash.
