Marion Troopers Investigating a Serious Injury Crash
Marion – Troopers from the Marion Post are investigating a serious injury crash that occurred on June 8, 2024, at approximately 12:18 AM, on State Route 37 in Marion County.
The crash involved a 2018 Harley Davidson FLHTKL Ultra Limited Low, driven by Jason M. Edwards, age 51, of Marion, Ohio. The rear passenger was Danielle N. McCormack, age 38, of Larue, Ohio. The preliminary investigation indicates Mr. Edwards was traveling northbound on State Route 37 when a deer entered the roadway. Mr. Edwards struck the deer, causing the Harley Davidson to overturn onto its side.
Marion Township EMS transported Mr. Edwards to Marion General Hospital with serious injuries. Scioto Valley EMS transported Ms. McCormack
to Marion General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Mr. Edwards and Ms. McCormack were later flown to Grant Medical Center. Neither of them were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on the scene by Scioto Valley Fire and EMS, Marion Township EMS, and Ron’s Towing.
