Longtime Ashland County Resident Chad Enderby Announces Campaign for Ashland County
Sheriff

Longtime Ashland County resident Chad Enderby is running for Ashland County Sheriff,
presenting a legacy of leadership, experience, and integrity. Chad 39;s journey in law enforcement
began with a childhood dream inspired by mentors who were police officers. His dedication led
him to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Upon graduation from the academy, he was assigned to
the Mansfield Post, where he earned accolades for his bravery during an armed robbery.
During his career with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Enderby rose in the ranks, from K9
handler to Sergeant and eventually Lieutenant, reflects his commitment and expertise. As Post
commander he oversaw all aspects of administration including managing a multi-million-dollar
budget. His role expanded further when he took charge of the Wooster post, demonstrating his
ability to analyze data, allocate resources, and foster community relationships.
Enderby’s extensive experience culminated in overseeing the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s
District Headquarters, where he managed seven patrol posts covering eight counties and 250
employees. This further included creating, developing, implementing, managing, and operating
all operations within approved budget guidelines. His leadership and focus during significant
national events, including the Republican National Convention, Presidential debates, and civil
unrest, underscores his capability in handling multiple high-pressure situations with
competence.
With over 30 years of service, his experience extends beyond routine duties. Specialized
training from institutions like the North Western School of Police Staff and Command and
collaboration with the United States Secret Service underscore his commitment to continuous
improvement in leadership and law enforcement administration.
Currently serving as the Director of Human Resources for the City of Ashland, he brings
additional expertise in labor laws, hiring practices, and union negotiations. As Sheriff, he aims to
leverage his two decades of proven supervisory and skilled administrative experience to
enhance the Ashland County Sheriff 39;s Office.
Furthermore, Enderby has already established a collaborative working relationship with the
Ashland City Police Chief where City and County law enforcement can effectively collaborate on
shared critical concerns when necessary.
Enderby’s vision for the Ashland County Sheriff 39;s office includes increased patrols in townships
and villages, eliminating service overlaps, and ensuring highly trained and disciplined deputies.
His commitment extends to school safety, advocating for dedicated officers in all of our schools
and improving 9-1-1 dispatch services by addressing personnel shortages.
Beyond his professional achievements, Chad 39;s personal life reflects stability and commitment.
Married to his wife Sandy for 28 years, herself a lifelong resident of Ashland County and
Director of the Ashland County Council on Aging, they share a dedication to public service. With
two adult children, Lauren and Alexis, Chad Enderby embodies the values of leadership,
experience, and integrity that define his campaign for Ashland County Sheriff.
